Composite Bonding

At Alexandra Dental, we offer composite bonding treatment to cover chips, cracks, and gaps in your teeth to restore your beautiful smile.

Composite bonding uses a tooth-coloured resin to restore the appearance and functionality of your teeth. The resin is applied in layers and hardened with a specialised light. Our cosmetic dentist then shapes the composite to blend with your natural teeth.

The treatment can be used as:

• Alternative to amalgam fillings
• Repair minor chips or cracks
• Close narrow gaps between teeth
• Improve the appearance of discoloured teeth
• Lengthen short teeth, giving you an even smile
• Straighten slightly crooked teeth

Composite bonding is a non-invasive treatment and does not require an anaesthetic.

We do not need to drill any tooth structure only give it a high clean at the start.

We use state-of-the-art electronic handpieces that feature noise- and vibration-reduction technology to polish and glaze the composite to give it a natural gloss.

Composite bonding has become a popular choice recently, due to its non-invasive and reversible nature. Our cosmetic dentists use high macro photography to ensure we capture all the details and ensure the best possible result. Prior to composite bonding we do recommend patients to consider tooth whitening if their own teeth are discoloured to ensure the new colour is even and harmonious.

Composite bonding can last up to seven years with the right care. To maintain your new smile, follow a good at-home oral hygiene routine, including brushing and flossing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, flossing and using a mouthwash daily, and regularly visiting our practice for a professional cleaning and an oral examination.
