At Alexandra Dental, we understand that missing teeth can cause patients numerus problems such as difficulty eating, impact upon appearance, causing bite problems and causing surrounding teeth to move.
We use bridges to resolve these issues and help our patients regain their confidence.
Quite simply, a bridge is an artificial tooth which is held in place on either side by the adjacent teeth. A ‘wing’ mechanism keeps the bridge stable and it is supported by crowns.
Prior to a bridge being placed, considerable preparation work must to be carried out on your natural teeth.
In some cases, a bridge can also be glued into place, which saves additional preparation work to the surrounding teeth. However, this is not always as resilient as the traditional bridge structure.
As always, Alexandra Dental recommends maintaining a positive oral health homecare routine to ensure your bridge remains in place for as long as possible.
You will need to keep the area beneath the bridge clean and healthy by brushing and flossing twice daily.
